Qinqin (Stella) Yang works on AI-native creative development. She designs systems, workflows, and creative infrastructure that help individuals and organizations explore possibilities, make decisions, and develop new ideas. Her focus is not only on how creativity is developed, but on whether what gets developed holds up in the real world, where people actually use and experience it.
Through her independent practice Actual Fiction, she develops AI-native systems, methods, and tools that turn exploration into a working process. The practice spans creative development, innovation, and capability building, helping teams navigate emerging opportunities and build new ways of working in the age of AI.
Her work moves between strategy and prototyping. In recent work, it has organized around a harder test than exploration alone: whether an idea can reach real-world use, product-market fit rather than a proof of concept. Through the Actual Fiction newsletter, she documents emerging approaches to creative development in the AI era, including the ongoing Creative Infrastructure series.
